iA Writer Classic (Legacy Support Edition) App Reviews

Really a good app, clean and functional. But I am expecting a darkened/solarized color style and a (modest) font selector. Updating the interface to ios7 would not hurt either.

iA Writer is insanely great !

I just writer better with this. Even prefer to use this for my first drafts to using my laptop. Now if this was connected to scrivener.... Wow

Im with the exact same problem described by d.rpc The app used to work fine, almost seamlessly, but now, with Brazilian-Portuguese keyboard and its shortcuts problems, it is terrible, impossible to write

Some people complain about the lack of features - but imho thats a good thing! It does what its supposed to do - very well. I use it all the time between Mac and phone

I love Writer because its a pleasure to use. I also hate it because its lacking some basic features like word count. Dark mode isn’t so essential but it would help in low light environments. Yes, there is a pro version with some of those features. But the enforced workflow makes the pro version unusable for me.

Great. Simple. No distractions.

I keep coming back to this app even after trying others. Simple, easy to use and does the job. I rarely take the time to review an app but I just love this simple little app.

As a fiction writer, when I have a scene suddenly play out in my mind, or when I hear some great dialogue out on the street, I want to capture it quickly. We all know how fast we can lose the good words from memory and were left with only an idea. This app is is perfect in those situations. With one tap I have it open and Im already working. Its not cumbersome like the word processor apps are yet there is basic formatting if you want it. Though it cant import Word docs...you can send a file to Word and it opens just fine. Plus...on the iPad I was noticing a real lag in time when backspacing on other apps...which is quite common. This app has no such problem. Youll love it!

Great app! Simple, no nonsense and the latest update allows you to see your markup language in action. Highly recommend.
