Love this app! Simple and straightforward, no distracting bells and whistles. Allows you to easily focus on the words.

Nice looking application though
Since I do most of my writing on my iPad, Ive found Writer to be the best app for keeping my focus on my words. The only other writing tool I can think of that gives me that ability is a typewriter. Excellent app! Brian Rodda
Excellent and getting better. I call it an 8 out of 10 for balancing ease of use with features, especially for noting ideas and phrases that pop into mind while underway. Keep going on making it better!
It works really well as an entry point for making notes, have them reviewed, and then get them into an email or evernote. It just works!
Some people say the iPad is not a content creation device. I might have thought that as well until I started using this app. In my view its the best writing app for the iPad.
I use this software for writing my blog posts as well as any other bits of writing I can think of. Its simplicity compared to its functionality is incredible. Software that doesnt get in the way.
The update works super. Thanks for the hard work.
I came across this application when I began writing my first novel and I must say it has helped me focus and delve into my writing in the purest sense. No distractions, no flourish, just a simple word processor with a proper amount of restraint in the features that it offers. To zone in even more I use this application on my iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard and find that I am at my most productive. Happy writing.
Simple & clean slate for writing.
On my iPhone I use this for note taking and general brainstorming if I am on the road. It interfaces well with the app on my iPad (1st gen) and my iMac. The keyboard is far more useful than the built in. I highly recommend it.
I havent tried all of them, but I have tried a few and so far I really like the simplicity. For example, Textkraft is very full featured but the simple utility of having one touch access to , " and arrow keys is more valuable than the complex features, for me anyway. With a real Bluetooth keyboard Im sure a more complicated thesaurus/spelling engine and what not become more valuable, but to just write on the go this is my fav.
I have been using iA Writer on both my iPad and my iMac since it first came out. Word processors are fine if you need to muck around with formatting and technical details. As a designer, I also spend a lot of time in Adobe InDesign to get layouts just right. However, when I need to focus and *just write* I always return to iA Writer. I know I feel less distracted when using it, allowing me to focus and get my best stuff out. And that’s the point.
There is zero support for the swipe-back gesture. Im sorry, what year are we living in?
Works well, does what it says. Would like to see customizable zoom. I have not tried this on the iPad yet but on my iPhone 5 I wish I could see a few more lines of text.
Nice integration with Dropbox. Excellent font. A pleasure to use.
My daily notebook on all my apple devices: iphone, ipad and macbook ^^
Its a simple little text editor, if you want any fancy formatting, then this is not the app for you. But, if all you want to do is write on your iPad or iPhone, then its perfect. I use this with my Dropbox files, and it syncs wonderfully. This is my go to app for writing on the go, Ive tried other apps, and they just dont work as well with Dropbox.
Absolutely great at what it does - providing an uncluttered and straightforward interface for writing. The extra keys appended to the iOs native keyboard contribute greatly to the user experience. I wish it was customizable. I would also like to see some control over view settings (word wrap, text size) to let me work with txt on my tablet the way I do on my PC. Ive tried quite a handful of apps for simple note-taking. This one isnt perfect but then I havent found any yet that capture everything in a pleasing interface. That places this at the head of the pack.
My go to editor/word processor. Very good at what it does and better than others Ive tried.
